Ayurvedic Golden Milk

Turmeric Latter that offers various health benefits!

Ingredients:

2 cups milk (dairy or plant-based like almond, coconut, or soy)

1 teaspoon ground turmeric

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

A pinch of black pepper (enhances turmeric absorption)

1-2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)

1/2 teaspoon coconut oil (optional)

Instructions:

Prepare Ingredients:

In a small bowl, mix the ground turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and a pinch of black pepper. This combination enhances the bioavailability of curcumin, the active compound in turmeric.

Heat Milk:

In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat. Use a whisk to ensure even heating.

Add Turmeric Mixture:

Once the milk is warm, add the mixed turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and black pepper to the milk.

Whisk and Simmer:

Whisk the mixture continuously to blend the spices into the milk.

Allow the mixture to simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Be careful not to let it boil.

Sweeten (Optional):

If you prefer sweetness, add honey or maple syrup to taste. Adjust the sweetness according to your preference.

Add Coconut Oil (Optional):

For added richness, you can stir in a small amount of coconut oil.

Strain and Serve:

If desired, strain the golden milk to remove any remaining spice particles.

Pour the golden milk into your favourite mug.

Enjoy:

Sip the Ayurvedic Golden Milk slowly, allowing its warmth and soothing spices to relax and nourish you.

Note: You can adjust the spice quantities to suit your taste preferences. Some variations include adding a dash of cardamom or using fresh ginger instead of ground.

Golden Milk is often consumed in the evening or before bedtime for its calming properties. It's a wonderful way to incorporate the anti-inflammatory benefits of turmeric into your daily routine.
