Winter Hot Healing Tea

Ingredients:

 

1 cup water

1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced

1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric (or a small piece of fresh turmeric)

Juice of half a lemon or lime squeezed or added (as you wish)

Pinch of cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

 

Instructions:

 

Prepare the Ingredients:

Peel and slice the fresh ginger.

If using fresh turmeric, peel and thinly slice a small piece.

Squeeze  half a lemon or lime.

 

Infuse the Ginger and Turmeric:

In a small saucepan, bring one cup of water to a simmer.

Add the sliced ginger and turmeric to the simmering water.

Allow it to simmer for about 5-7 minutes to infuse the flavors.

 

Add Lemon/ Lime Juice:

After the ginger and turmeric have infused, remove the saucepan from the heat.

Add the freshly squeezed lemon/lime juice to the mixture and stir.

 

Add Cayenne Pepper:

Sprinkle a pinch of cayenne pepper into the tea. Adjust the amount based on your spice preference.

 

Strain and Serve:

Strain the tea to remove the ginger and turmeric pieces.

Pour the spiced ginger-lemon turmeric tea into your favourite mug.

 

Enjoy:

Sip the hot tea slowly, allowing the warmth and comforting flavors to soothe you.
